Enjoy an all-inclusive break at the Cumbria Grand Hotel, set in private gardens and woodland overlooking Morecambe Bay. Experience sights like no other in this postcard panorama of bold hilltops, historic towns, and glittering lakes. Take it all in on a boat ride gliding across the tranquil Lake Windermere. Day 1 Travel to Cumbria making suitable comfort stops. Day 2 Morning at leisure in Grange-over-Sands, a quiet seaside retreat between the mountains and the sea. Return to our hotel for lunch before we depart for Ulverston. Here we visit Cumbria Crystal, the last producer of completely hand- blown and hand-cut, lead, luxury English crystal in the UK, showcased extensively in ‘Downtown Abbey’, ‘James Bond’ and many period dramas. Day 3 We travel to Lakeside (packed lunch is provided by the hotel), situated on the northern end of Lake Windermere, for an included return boat trip to Bowness. Enjoy time at leisure in Bowness before catching our return boat to Lakeside. Day 4 Visit Kendal, a market town within the South Lakeland District of Cumbria, packed with intriguing history and great shopping streets. Return to our hotel for lunch before departing for the pretty village of Hawkeshead, originally owned by the monks of Furness Abbey. It is eloquently described in William Wordsworth’s poem “The Prelude”. Day 5 After breakfast we head home with our packed lunch, making suitable comfort stops along the way. We make a quick stop in Morecambe, where ‘The Bay’ is filmed and visit the Eric Morecambe Statue. Snowdrops Short Break Gloucestershire

FRIDAY 24TH – SUNDAY 26TH FEBRUARY 2023

Flowering between January and March, Snowdrops are one of the first signs of life in gardens after the long winter months. These delicate little blooms can brighten up even the gloomiest of days, so why not join us on this short break where Painswick Rococo Gardens and Colesbourne Park will be our holiday highlights. Day 1 Travel to Gloucester stopping in Bourton-on-the-Water for lunch to be purchased. Day 2 Enjoy a visit to Painswick Rococo Gardens, set in a hidden valley in the Cotswolds. The Rococo Garden has one of the largest naturalistic plantings of snowdrops in the country. This afternoon, we re-join the coach and travel to Stow- on-the-Wold, a pretty Cotswold town just waiting to be discovered. Day 3 Visit Cirencester this morning, known as the ‘Capital of the Cotswolds’. Cirencester is renowned for its very special shops, individual boutiques, fascinating antique emporiums, and craft shops as well as national chain stores. Afterwards we travel to Colesbourne Park. The snowdrop collection here originated in the plantings made by Henry John Elwes (1846-1922). Colesbourne Park is renowned as one of the best places to see large groups of choice snowdrops.
