RHS Chatsworth Flower Show & The Peak District THURSDAY 8TH – MONDAY 12TH JUNE 2023 £530 Join us on this fabulous holiday to visit the Chatsworth Flower Show, the first new Royal Horticultural Show in over a decade. The show will be laid out to reflect the natural curves of the Peak District landscape instead of the usual grid system used at other Horticultural popular RHS Shows. See the spectacular scenery of the Peak District, one of the UK’s most visited national parks. We end our holiday with a visit to Bakewell for you to bring home a Bakewell pudding! Day 1 Depart home area and make our way to Stamford for our lunch stop. There are many charming shops to browse and many restaurants/tea rooms to obtain lunch. Many film and dramas have been made here including Pride and Prejudice, Bleak House and The Buccaneers. We continue to our hotel and upon arrival enjoy a cup of tea/coffee whilst our luggage is taken to your room. Day 2 After breakfast, we travel to the thermal spa town of Buxton. Home of Buxton Water and located in the centre of the Peak District. We have free time for lunch here before visiting the charming village of Castleton, known as the ‘Gem of the Peaks’, after which we continue our scenic drive enjoying the wonderful view of the Ladybower Reservoir. Along with the Derwent and Howden reservoirs, these were made famous during World War II when it was used by the Dambusters RAF squadron to practice low level flying techniques. We have plenty of visual delights as we make our way back to our hotel, seeing much of the best scenery the Peaks has to offer. Day 3 Today we visit the RHS Chatsworth Show today. There will be a vast marquee, The Great Conservatory, which is used to house specialist plants and displays which is visible from all parts of the Showground. Inside, there is a chance to explore mini plant themed habitats. Day 4 This morning we head to the east of the Peak District and visit the popular town of Chesterfield, dominated by its famous crooked spire. We are free to explore the shops and cafés. This afternoon we visit the lovely town of Bakewell. With its glorious character cottages and wonderful old buildings, the architecture is amazing. Visit the Old Original Bakewell Pudding Shops and buy a pudding or two to bring back home! Day 5 After breakfast we return to home area stopping at Boundary Mills, Grantham for lunch to be obtained.
