The family-owned company has had a focus on water-based systems since the mid-1990s. The announcement comes as flexible packaging con- verters face pressure to reduce VOC emissions, improve recyclability, and assess alternatives to nitrocellulose (NC) and conventional solvent-based systems. New York-based NextGen Label Group has installed its second Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) converting production line, using a high-speed platform designed to enhance production efficiency, increase capacity, and pro- vide greater operational flexibility for customers utilizing RFID-enabled label solutions. The addition of the RFID converting machine reportedly expands the company’s production capabilities, improving throughput and enabling high-capacity, scalable solutions. Follmann Strengthens UK Presence With FIA UK Diamond Partnership Water-based printing ink company Follmann has become a diamond partner of the Flexographic Industry Associa- tion UK (FIA UK). The partnership is designed to support closer collabo- ration with converters responding to changing packaging legislation, sustainability requirements, and raw material supply chain volatility. Follmann is working with flexible packaging manufac- turers to evaluate and implement water-based polyure- thane (PU) ink systems.
