IN PROFILE

Hemp seeds have been a staple food source for centuries. As well as being a nourishing, versatile and economical food, hemp seeds are: • Easy to use: Hemp requires no cooking, soaking or crushing. Your body takes what it needs and eliminates what it doesn’t. • Safe and gentle: Unlike conventional and processed foods, hemp seeds do not burden the body with toxins, allergens and GMOs. Why? Because they are organic meaning no synthetic or harmful pesticides, chemicals or fertilisers. • Sustainably produced: You don’t have to kill anything or poison the planet to grow hemp seeds. They grow just about anywhere without needing fertilisers, herbicides or pesticides, and they require less water than wheat, rice or soy. Nutrition powerhouse Hemp seeds contain the highest amount of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs), providing around 35 grams of PUFAs for every 100 grams of seeds. Hemp seeds also provide a high quality and quantity of protein for a plant-based food, at around 34 grams for every 100 grams of seeds. Even better: hemp protein is gluten-free with a complete essential amino acid profile.
