Preventing overpacking to reduce packaging waste To reduce packaging waste, it is important to prevent overpacking. A noteworthy trend is a transition from rigid structures (such as tubes, trays and jars) to flexible structures (such as stand-up pouches, sachets, flow packs, shrink film, ...) , which can be created
using EVAL™ EVOH. These flexible structures can be adapted to just the right sizes, shapes and proportions. You will need less material and boost sustainability. For example, a barrier stand-up pouch can perform as glass, metal or hybrid structures, using much less material. However, always keep in mind that consumer convenience is key. Sometimes it is best to transition to flexible structures – and sometimes optimising your existing rigid structure is the way to go.
