Miraclon Receives IFCA Star Award For Innovation Miraclon has been recognized by the Indian Flex- ible Packaging and Folding Carton Manufacturers Association (IFCA) in the IFCA Star Awards 2022 for one of the best Innovations and Developments in Printing with PureFlexo Printing. Accessed through the FLEXCEL NX Print Suite for Flexible Packaging, the technology addresses and controls unwanted ink spread to allow a wider op- erating window - maximizing efficiency, repeatabil- ity, and overall performance on press. PureFlexo Printing utilizes patented Miraclon technology created by the same R&D team respon- sible for the invention of the FLEXCEL NX System launched in 2008. SOMA Celebrates 30-year Anniversary Soma, producer of flexographic printing presses, plate mounters, slitter rewinders and laminators, celebrated its 30-year anniversary recently during a gala dinner at its headquarters and new produc- tion facilities in Lanskroun, Czech Republic. Soma was founded in 1992 by Ladislav Verner, CEO, who
today leads a team that includes his son, Technical Director Jan Verner, and daughter, Commercial Di- rector Pavla Kusa. All products are manufactured and assembled in-house. Soma was founded with an initial focus on special purpose machines. In 1995, the devel- opment of the SOMA Flex CI flexographic printing press opened SOMA’s path to serve flexible pack- aging companies. Siegwerk Wins Sustainability Award Siegwerk’s packaging ink series UniNATURE has won Packaging Europe’s Sustainability Awards 2022. The sustainable ink solution with a high Bio-Renewable Content was selected as the winner in the category “Renewable Materials” and also as the “Most Sustainable Innovation” among all 360 en- tries from across the global packaging value chain. All winners of the commercialized innovations & initiatives categories of the Sustainability Awards 2022 were revealed on September 13, 2022, at the Sustainable Packaging Summit, in Lisbon, Portugal. UniNATURE incorporates up to 50 percent renew- able carbon content.
