THE ROLE

PARTNERSHIP & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

BUSINESS MANAGEMENT

Managing key partners, using industry exper- tise to develop the best possible deals for the business, ensuring suc- cessful outcomes. Ensure value improve- ment through smart initiatives meeting cus- tomer needs and com- mercial deal structuring.

Lead the development and delivery of Tribes ‘refresh’ approach, a focused discipline es- tablished to enhance the standard of specific residential accommo- dation and communal facilities across the ex- isting building in order to meet the changing expectations of stu- dents. Exploit opportunities for commercial develop- ment from the assets and university partner- ships. Highly organised, demonstrates ability to plan schedules, budg- ets and plans in an ef- ficient and productive manner. Input into the develop- ment of the business strategy and business plans to ensure fu- ture development and growth.

Develop and maintain key stakeholder rela- tionships with univer- sity partners to enable open and transparent dialogue. Create new Business opportunities to support the strategic business development by struc- turing deals and deliv- ering accommodation to the higher education sector. Foster close personal relationships with indi- vidual key stakeholders grounded in the Tribe values of partnership, community, innovation delivered responsibly. Ensure a plan is estab- lished to maintain long term continuity of rela- tionships, particularly during periods of per- sonnel change at part- ner universities. Forming strategic fund- ing, operating and de- velopment arrange- ments.

FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT

Ensure the effective and efficient leadership with a view to optimising the delivery of each con- tract. Ensure robust and transparent financial management of is in place and that all due governance protocols are followed.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Relevant experience gained as a or Director in a comparable fast- paced organisation with broad commercial management experi- ence, preferably in the Student Accommoda- tion or Higher Educa- tion. Detailed knowledge of the land acquisition process, relevant legis- lation, or university ten- dering processes. Commercial acumen – knowledge of manag- ing project companies, ensuring that all com- mercial, legal and finan- cial obligations are dis- charged. Customer facing – ca- pable of networking, building and maintain- ing lasting and mean- ingful relationships with key stakeholders. Risk management – balance commercial needs of the business with strong attention to risk management best practice. Strong attention to de- tail – support key busi- ness decisions with sound objective criteria. Retain an entrepreneur- ial style keeping hands on, visible and energet- ic.
