How do I refill
the Mini Curved Salt?
Take off the clear lid, unwrap the Mini Curve salt and place it into the space. Simply position with the Mini Curve salt against the back of the softener.
A Minimax Innova Water Softener is non-electric, which is extremely beneficial as it doesn’t require any maintenance or regular service appointments.
If your Minimax Water Softener hasn’t been used for more than four days (e.g. if you have been away), run a tap for 5 minutes to rinse your water softener.
The most vital part of the water softener is the Mini Curved salt, without it your water softener won’t be able to supply your home with softened water. The water softener will use this salt to regenerate and ensure that the ion exchange process is always working and always providing softened water. The Mini Curve salt needs to be replenished regularly. Usage can vary as it depends on how much you consume in your home. We typically suggest one pack per person each month. When your Minimax Water Softener is first installed you may find that the block salt is used up at a faster rate. As time goes on it is perfectly normally for the two blocks to dissolve unevenly.
If your Mini Curve salt stops dissolving, it might have crystallised. Salt crystallisation is caused when the incoming mains water goes into a warmer environment, the brine solution at the bottom evaporates and causes crystallisation. This means the block salt can no longer function as it should and softened water won’t be provided to your home. The fix is simple and you can do it yourself; pour slightly cooled boiled water around each salt block, 1/2 pint will do – this will loosen the crystallisation. Simply scrape what’s left to the bottom of the water softener and it will dissolve.

regeneration of your Minimax Water Softener, which is vital to its function. The blocks are convenient to store and won’t create any spillage or mess unlike tablet salt. Where can I buy the Mini Curve salt for my water softener? Please contact your authorised Minimax Dealer who will supply them. What happens if I don’t replenish the Mini Curve salt? Without block salt, softened water can’t be supplied to your home. Hard water will enter your system again, meaning you experience the same hard water problems as before.
Pop the lid back on. Your home will continue to enjoy softened water.
