Members of the KS3 Science club attended the NPL Water Rocket Festival - a challenge to see how far away from the launch point their handmade air pressured rockets, using water as a propellant, can land. 35 teams from local schools came together in Bushy Park to compete to land their rockets as close as possible to the 50m target. Not only did students work collaboratively in their teams to design and build their rockets but they also gained insights into the science behind propulsion. Students used their engineering skills to use high pressure launchers to launch their rockets. The competition was stiff, and while our rockets didn't win, the students gained valuable experience learning about how rockets work and a day out in the sun!
