WHY SWANSEA? • Mathematical Sciences is joint Top 20 in the UK for Research (Times Higher Education 2022) and achieved 100% world-leading impact in its research publications (REF 2021). •Our Actuarial Science course is accredited by The Institute and Faculty of Actuaries. •Our staff are experts in their areas of mathematics with the majority being recognised by the Higher Education Academy with a Fellowship or Senior Fellowship. •Our department has world-class facilities for mathematical and computational sciences in the £32.5m Computational Foundry building, giving students access to bespoke study and teaching spaces that are designed and for mathematicians. •We place a strong emphasis on increasing employability with many of our graduates going on to being employed by a wide range of organisations including: AXA, BA, Deutsche Bank, Shell Research, Zurich Financial Services, health authorities and local government.

Mathematics at Swansea is expanding and housed in the brand new £32.5m Computational Foundry building, providing up-to-date and high-quality teaching and research facilities, as well as networking and inspiration space. It’s a place where industry partners can collaborate with us, test new ideas and allow our students and researchers to work on real-world problems. Our research interests are varied, covering Algebra and Topology, Stochastic Analysis, Mathematics Education, Biomathematics, Computational Mathematics, and Analysis and Nonlinear Partial Differential Equations .

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT • Our MSc programmes are ideal if you want to extend your BSc knowledge through a wider spread of topics, and demonstrate your literature research skills with an extended dissertation. • You can expect to study different elements of mathematics, such as mathematical elements of computing and statistical theories.

• You will develop your research, project management, and gain marketable skills including written communication skills. • Upon graduation you will be a knowledgeable mathematician with the proven skills to independently deliver a substantial project, giving you a distinct edge in the increasingly competitive jobs market.
