The Department of Welsh at Swansea University has distinguished scholars among its staff with excellent reputations in their respective fields. They have also contributed significantly to the cultural life of Wales. The Department offers innovative postgraduate taught programmes in Professional Translation in addition to its research degrees in Welsh. It can offer excellent research supervision in a wide range of areas including bilingual policy and language planning, creative writing, cultural and social history, media and film, literature and literary criticism, sociolinguistics, translation techniques and technology.
