Swansea University Postgraduate Prospectus 2023

Sometimes it can be difficult to manage both! But effective time-management and planning go a long way when running your own business. What inspired Lowri to start her business was that ultimately, she loves all things wellbeing and self-development – it’s a passion of hers! Her own journey into reading and learning about wellbeing and how to use this to feel fulfilled and happy inspired her to want to cascade this to others, and really encourage the importance of it all. Knowing that the University has services that are dedicated to supporting student businesses has been great. There is always someone on hand to talk things through, even if it is something small. The opportunities to pitch and subsequently gain funding has been fantastic. Meeting and collaborating with other student entrepreneurs has been hugely valuable.

LOWRI WILKIE, PhD in Psychology

Lowri has her own wellbeing business and brand, where she conducts workshops, guided meditation sessions, hosts retreats and offers consultations and training on all things wellbeing. She is currently studying a PhD in Psychology with a focus on wellbeing interventions and programmes. She has found studying and having her own business brilliant. The support from the University and the Enterprise Team has been super helpful whilst getting set up and making contacts. The University has been a great platform for marketing her business and having the opportunity to meet others who have their own businesses too. It has allowed her to also disseminate some of her PhD research in a more practical sense, by implementing it into her business models and what she practices.
