Studying a master’s degree in Childhood Studies will give you the knowledge and skills to support children and their families in a range of environments. You will develop a keen understanding of issues related to child development in contemporary society and how policy and services for children and families areplanned and provided. The MA Developmental and Therapeutic Play focuses on the knowledge and application of using non-directive play practice across a wide range of children’s services. This includes areas of education, health and social sciences, for example schools, hospitals and social services. The course provides a mixture of academic theory and practice and can be studied full-time or part-time. Our academic staff work to bring real-life benefits for health care, social care, voluntary and private sectors, ultimately leading to improvements for children, parents, practitioners, managers and policy makers. They have strong links with a range of national and international networks, so your learning is informed by the latest research, policy and practice developments.
