Study history in a department internationally recognised for its contributions to understanding the medieval, early modern, and modern pasts. Explore the history of Britain, Europe, the Americas, or the wider world. You’ll strengthen skills valued by academic employers, cultural organisations, and businesses, whilst following your own historical interests to produce an original piece of historical research. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

• Training in advanced research methods and the intellectual and ethical foundations of historical work. • Support and guidance from recognised experts in a wide range of historical approaches and topics, including conflict, culture, disability, gender, health and disease, heritage, identity, industry and work, the law, politics, religion, science, and sport.

• Opportunities to produce work in traditional academic formats and to think creatively about how academic research can best engage the wider public. • Membership of a community of students and scholars who explore the significance of the past for dealing with the pressing needs of the present.
