In فــي ظــل التســارع التكنولوجــي والتحــوّل الرقمــي الشــامل الــذي يميّــز عصرنــا، تمكّــن مركــز أبوظبــي للغــة العربيّــة مــن ترســيخ موقعــه الريـاديّ، حامـا رسـالة طموحـة بـأن اللغـة العربيّــة قـادرة علـى التكيّــف مــع المســتجدّات الحديثــة، والازدهــار، وتثبيــت حضورهــا المؤثّــر فــي المشــهد الرقمــي العالمــيّ. ويُثبــت المركــز فــي مبادراتــه وبرامجــه، أنّــه لا يتوقّــف عنــد صــون التّــراث اللغــوي فحســب، بــل يتعــدّاه إلــى ابتــكار إســتراتيجيّات متقدّمــة، وتوظيــف أدوات التكنولوجيــا لتعزيــز العربيّــة لغــة للثقافــة والعلــم والإبــداع فــي حاضرنــا ومســتقبل أجيالنــا. وفــي حديــث مطــوّل مــع مجلــة شــواطئ، مــع اقتــراب موعــدي معــرض ” و“كونغـرس العربيّــة والصّناعـات الإبداعيّــة”، 2025 “جيتكـس جلوبـال قـال سـعادة سـعيد حمـدان الطنيجـي، المديـر التنفيـذي لمركـز أبوظبـي للغــة العربيّــة: “يســرّنا فــي مركــز أبوظبــي للغــة العربيّــة أن نشــارك فــي معـرض “جيتكـس جلوبـال”، أضخـم حـدث تقنـي عالمـيّ، لنؤكّــد رؤيتنـا ورســالتنا فــي النهــوض باللغــة العربيّــة، وإعــادة صياغــة حضورهــا لمواكبــة التحــوّلات الرقميّــة الكبــرى. لكــن مشــاركتنا فــي “جيتكــس” ليســت مجــرّد اســتعراض للكفــاءة التكنولوجيّــة، بــل تتوخّــى إظهــار كيفيّــة توظيـف التكنولوجيـا أداة رائـدة فـي خدمـة اللغـة العربيّــة، ودعـم قطاعــات النشــر والصّناعــات الإبداعيّــة، بمــا يُســهم فــي توســيع نطــاق انتشـار لغتنـا، وزيـادة جاذبيّتهـا لـدى الجمهـور العالمـيّ، وضمـان اسـتمرار إشــعاعها وحيويّتهــا.”

وعــرض ســعادته بعــض الأرقــام الخاصّــة بهــذا المشــروع قائــاً: “يُشــكّل “بـارق” أضخـم وأشـمل مكنـز لغـوي للنّصـوص العربيّــة الموسـومة يدويّــا ألــف جملــةٍ، ومــا يزيــد علــى مليــون 69 فــي العالــم، إذ يضــم أكثــر مــن مســتوى لتصنيــف 19 كلمــة. ويُوفّــر هــذا الابتــكار مقياســا مؤلّفــا مــن قابليّــة القــراءة، ممّــا يُتيــح تحليــا دقيقــا للتعقيــد اللغــوي عبــر مختلــف الأنـواع والمسـتويات التعليميّــة، ويُمهّــد الطريـق لانتقـال مـن التحليـل الذاتــي إلــى التحليــل المنهجــي والتجريبــيّ.” ، 2023 وأضــاف ســعادته، “اســتطاع “بــارق”، منــذ انطاقــه فــي ســبتمبر أن يُحقّــق سلســلة مــن النجاحــات المهمّــة التــي تعكــس التفانــي الكبيــر لفــرق العمــل وشــركائنا. ومــن أبــرز هــذه الإنجــازات إصــدار مجموعــة بيانــات ضخمــة وموثوقــة ذات جــودة عاليــة لاســتخدام العــام، وقــد عمليّــة تنزيــل عبــر منصّــة “هاجينــج فيــس” 3000 حظيــت بأكثــر مــن )، المجتمــع والمكتبــة الرائــدة فــي مجــال الــذّكاء Hugging Face( الاصطناعــي ونمــاذج التعلّــم الآلــيّ. وهــذا الإقبــال الكبيــر علــى تنزيــل المكنــز اللغــوي يؤكّــد علــى القيمــة العلميّــة التــي يحظــى بهــا، وإمكانيّــة تحوّلــه إلــى معيــار عالمــي فــي ميــدان النشــر باللغــة العربيّــة.” “وقــدّم المشــروع إســهامات علميّــة بالغــة الأهميّــة، بمــا فــي ذلــك نشــر ورقتيـن بحثيّتيـن فـي محافـل مرموقـة، إلـى جانـب عـدد مـن الدراسـات الأخـرى قيـد الإنجـاز. غيـر أن تأثيـره لا يقتصـر علـى الحقـل الأكاديمـي فحسـب، إذ إن إتاحتـه كمرجـع مفتـوح المصـدر تُتيـح لمُنشـئي المحتـوى والمعلّميــن والناشــرين تقييــم موادّهــم وتخصيصهــا وفقــا لاحتياجــات جمهــور محــدّد، ممّــا يُســهم فــي تحســين اســتيعاب المحتــوى العربــي والتفاعــل معــه. وبذلــك يُرسّــخ “بــارق” مكانتــه نموذجــا بــارزا لكيفيّــة توظيــف مركــز أبوظبــي للغــة العربيّــة لتقنيــات الــذّكاء الاصطناعــي المتقدّمـة واللغويـات الحاسـوبيّة، مـن أجـل دعـم اللغـة العربيّــة وجعلهـا أكثــر مرونــة وفاعليّــة فــي الاســتخدام علــى الصعيــد العالمــيّ.”
His Excellency presented some figures relating to the project and said: “BAREC is the largest and most comprehensive manually annotated Arabic corpus for readability assessment in the world, containing more than 69,000 sentences and over a million words. This novel pro- cedure offers a 19-level readability scale that allows for in-depth ex- ploration of linguistic complexity across a wide variety of genres and schooling levels, enabling a shift from subjective to standardised and empirical analysis.” His Excellency added: “Since its inception in September 2023, BAREC has enjoyed a commendable track record of success, demonstrating the dedication of our teams and partners. Key milestones on that journey include the public release of a large, high-quality, and reliable dataset that has already achieved over 3,000 downloads on Hugging Face, an artificial intelligence [AI] community, platform, and library for machine learning models. The high number of downloads underscores the corpus’s broad appeal and potential to become a universal standard in Arabic publishing.” “The project has also produced significant scientific contributions, with two papers published in top-tier venues and many more in progress. However, its impact extends far beyond academic research. By providing an open-source reference, it empowers content creators, educators, and publishers to assess and tailor their materials for specific target audiences, optimising comprehension of and engagement with Arabic content. This cements BAREC as a clear example of how the ALC is leveraging advanced AI and computational linguistics to promote the Arabic language, making it more accessible and effective for diverse users worldwide.” His Excellency pointed out that the Centre participated in GITEX Global 2024 with its unique Poetry Intelligence Lab project. “The project uses modern, engaging tools to present poetic content, helping Arabic lan-
In light of the rapid technological advances and comprehensive dig- ital transformation that characterise our era, the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre [ALC] has consolidated its leading position, carrying an ambitious vision that the Arabic language is capable of adapting to modern developments and thriving while establishing its influential presence in the global digital landscape. Through its initiatives and pro- grammes, the Centre demonstrates that it does not stop at preserving linguistic heritage but goes beyond preservation to innovate advanced strategies and employ technological tools to promote Arabic as a lan- guage of culture, science, and creativity for generations to come. In a lengthy interview with Shawati ahead of the upcoming GITEX Global 2025 and the Congress of Arabic & Creative Industries, His Excellency Saeed Hamdan Al Tunaiji, Executive Director of the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre, said:“We at theAbu DhabiArabic Language Centre are delighted to participate in GITEX Global, the world’s largest technology event, to reaffirm our vision and mission to promote the Arabic language and reshape its presence to keep pace with major digital transformations. However, our presence at GITEX Global 2025 is not merely a showcase of technological prowess , but rather an opportunity to demonstrate how technology can serve as a powerful ally in strengthening the Arabic language, supporting its burgeoning creative and publishing sectors, and making the language more accessible, engaging, and relevant to a global audience, thus ensuring its enduring legacy and future vitality.” His Excellency added: “Among the flagship projects we aim to unveil at GITEX is the Balanced Arabic Readability Evaluation Corpus [BAREC], which represents a giant leap forward in ensuring Arabic readability, understanding, and assessment. Developed in collaboration with re- searchers at New York University Abu Dhabi and Zayed University, the project addresses a critical need for a coherent readability evaluation framework that can be applied across the Arab World, replacing the ad- hoc measures currently in place.”
وأضـاف سـعادته، “مـن المشـروعات الرائـدة التـي يسـعى المركز لتسـليط ”، يبــرز مشــروع المكنــز 2025 الضّــوء عليهــا خــال “جيتكــس جلوبــال العربــي المتــوازن لتقييــم الانقرائيّــة “بــارق”، الــذي يُعــد خطــوة نوعيّــة فـي قيـاس قابليّــة القـراءة باللغـة العربيّــة. وقـد طُــوّر المشـروع بالتعـاون مــع باحثيــن مــن جامعــة نيويــورك أبوظبــي وجامعــة زايــد، انطاقــا مــن الحاجـة الملحّــة إلـى وجـود إطـار عمـل منهجـي متكامـل يُمكـن توظيفـه علـى مسـتوى العالـم العربـيّ.”
