The first steps to ethical buying is to first see if its necessary to buy to support your goals. You may want to avoid it, perhaps this is an opportunity gift expe- riences, or to upcycle, upgrade, or repurpose product you already have. But if the goal is to provide goods with a purpose, a need, to support, or communi- cate, than turn to useful and ethical products and avoid useless items that will end up in the landfill. UP-CYCLE OR REUSE Consider options that don’t require buying new such as decorating water bottles, clothing swaps, zines or book binding from reused paper, or screen printing items students already own.
