MYTH I have oily skin, so I don’t need to moisturize. BUSTED

Oily skin does not equal hydrated skin! Skin can be oily AND dehydrated at the same time. This is a problem because dehydrated skin can actually increase the risk of breakouts! When skin becomes excessively dry, the body compensates by producing additional oil, which can lead to clogged pores and the development of more pimples. Using a quality lightweight moisturizer helps skin retain proper moisture so it stays calm and strengthens its barrier function.

MYTH I don’t need to start using skin care until

I get older. BUSTED

It’s never too early to start taking care of your skin! The best way to maintain healthy skin is by consistently following a good routine as soon as possible. Skin damage (especially damage caused by the sun) is cumulative and often doesn’t manifest until years later when reversing sun spots and wrinkles becomes much harder. By starting your skin care early, you’ll maintain a strong skin barrier and radiant complexion for years to come! We recommend starting a basic routine in your teens (just cleanser and moisturizer) and ramping it up to a full four- step routine in your 20s (cleanser, toner, treatment, and moisturizer).
