Emily Wiles Kintsugi
The practice of Kintsugi demonstrates that when a broken object is repaired using gold, the object is more beautiful having recovered from being broken. In a similar way, these Kintsugi style flowers add a layer of elegant refinement by using historical elements. Pieces of Japanese Fantasy Flower become intertwined with modern pattern, all linked by simple golden lines. The compositions are like pieces of pottery or tile, that find themselves coming together in this thoughtful and delicate reimagining.
