Summer fun! Fair in the sun

FAIR PLAY The Junior playground was bathed in sunshine as we celebrated with our annual Summer Fayre last Friday. Children and parents enjoyed food, fun and games. There was face painting, nail art, tattoos and mendi in the ‘chill out zone’; with a Penalty Shoot out, bouncy castle and obstacle course for more energetic ones. The barbecue and drinks, chocolate fountain and cake stall kept hungry tummies at bay; while everyone enjoyed the games - Sponge the Teacher, Hook a Duck, Splat the Rat, Bottle Hoopla and more. It was lovely to see local stallholders and visitors from Warley Rugby Club, St Hilda’s Church and Thimblemill Library sharing in the fun too. Thank you to the Abbey staff, parents and children that helped the Fayre run so smoothly. A special thank you to Allied Bakeries (bread rolls), Abbey children (cakes), Julian Khan (posters), Wacky Warehouse (vouchers), Becky Loone (Sand Art Party), Warley Rugby Club (obstacle course). Raffle results - 1st Prize- Claire Wickett, 2nd Prize - Julie McKirdy, 3rd Prize - a Year 4 Grandad We raised a tremendous £1609.50 - thank you all. Thanks to Mrs. Pipe for the story SUMMER HOLIDAY From everyone at Abbey, we wish you all a great summer break. Good luck to our leavers and we’ll see everyone for the return of children on Thursday 6th September. Happy holidays!
