Energy efcient, intelligent and gentle on resources: KHS to exhibit smart beverage lling systems
At this year’s BrauBeviale KHS’ main focus will be on process efciency, digitization and saving resources. “The entire production process is becoming increasingly smarter. As a trusted and relia- ble partner to the beverage industry we’re applying our extensive experience and line expertise to cater for this development,” says Dr. Johannes T. Grobe, CSO of the Dortmund machine and systems manufacturer. “At BrauBeviale we’re thus presenting intelligent tech- nologies which will map out the direction KHS will take both now and in the future.” One example of this is the new generation of glass bottle llers KHS will be showing to the public for the rst time at the exhibition. With it the turnkey supplier is consistently advancing its aim of continuously reducing the amount of energy and resources consumed within the beverage industry. Among other features the ller has a unique ECO system and special evacuation and CO2 purging process for glass bottles. With this the system uses up to 50% less CO2 compared to conventional methods. KHS has also cut energy consumption by a maximum of 20% thanks to its optimized vacuum pump. “The
Here, an important role is played by smart engineering which noticeably simplies, optimizes and automates production processes. To quote one example, a diagnostic assistance system monitors the entire lling process with regard to the evacuation and CO2 purging processes, for instance, to considerably minimize the amount of oxygen pickup. Broken bottles are also detected in all lling phases and the containers automatically channeled out of the system. “We’re constantly improv- ing the efciency of production processes. This in turn brings about a clear improvement in the line performance,” Grobe states.

Our specialist for digitalisation, the Krones subsidiary Syskron is also bringing along an innovation. With the design enhancement of Share2Act, it has created a plat- form with multi-client capability in which not only can all machines in the production operation be mutually linked and imaged, but the classic functionalities of MES systems can also be united on a single user interface.
Krones at the 2019 BrauBeviale
All over the world, small craft breweries and wineries, mid-tier lling plants and large beverage conglomerates put their trust in lines and solution from the Krones Group. For the company, the BrauBeviale is the perfect platform for meeting and exchanging mutual feedback with clients both present and prospective. One of the highlights on Krones’ stand at this year’s BrauBeviale is a newly developed glass ller for beer and CSDs, the Craftmate G. It can handle up to 24,000 bottles per hour, and can be combined with up to two closers for crowns, screw-caps or aluminium roll-on closures. In technological terms, it resembles the llers from Krones’ eld-proven series. For example, it operates with the HRS system featuring a vent tube, which guarantees accurate ll levels. In order to keep the ller as compact and simple as possible, however, there are also differences from the Modulll series. For example, necessary gush-type jetting systems have been integrated, though
