A Message ... FROM THE GENERAL MANAGER
ANDY ANDREWS COO/ GENERAL MANAGER
Dear members, With recent decisions surrounding our food & beverage team, some are asking, why did you make sudden staff changes?
As you can understand, personnel issues are confidential. As managers, we are sometimes required to make strategic changes within our team to ensure the highest quality of service and menu offerings for our members and guests. Our commitment to excellence remains unwavering, and we continue to focus on delivering an exceptional dining experience for all.
We are pleased to announce that Misty Goacher has been promoted to Food & Beverage Manager. Since joining our team, Misty has embraced every challenge with dedication and enthusiasm, demonstrating her passion for hospitality and service excellence.
She is committed to elevating our food and beverage operations and ensuring that every member and guest enjoys an outstanding dining experience. Please join us in congratulating Misty on her well-deserved promotion! Additionally, we have initiated a nationwide search for a new Executive Chef. Our goal is to find an experienced culinary professional from the private club industry who will bring fresh and exciting dining experiences to Tonto Verde. While this process takes time to ensure we find the right fit, rest assured that our talented culinary team has stepped up to maintain the high- quality standards our members expect. We appreciate your patience and support as we work towards strengthening our food and beverage offerings.
Andy

Community Park ... Update PICKLEBALL ORIENTATION CLASSES A BIG HIT! No time was wasted as the new pickleball players gathered for their orientation sessions. Over 200 residents registered to learn about the game of pickleball. These orientations have been incredibly successful, thanks to the many volunteers who contributed to the beginner sessions. We have offered eight sessions in total. We intend to take a break to evaluate interest before deciding on additional sessions in March. Our wonderful volunteers include: Lead: Diane Newcomb Coaches: Lou Rhodes, Walt Conway, Diane Kirk, Don Thompson, Steve Berg, Jill Cunningham, Patrick Cunningham, Bill Waldvogel, and Ed Martens.
“YOURCOURTS” ONLINE RESERVATION SYSTEMS GOES LIVE!
We successfully launched the Tonto Verde Court Schedule & Reservation System (YourCourts) on February 24 to better serve our pickleball community. This system helps monitor and balance Open Play, Events, and Member Reservations to ensure fairness and accessibility. Adjustments will be made based on usage patterns to enhance the experience for all players. Download the App from the Playstore or go to the TontoVerde.org | Lifestyle| Pickleball Info page. Weekly Schedule Overview: General Open Play – Open to all skill levels. Skill-Level Open Play – Dedicated sessions for Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced players. TVA Events – Includes orientations, round robins, social gatherings, and skill/drill sessions. Member Reservations – Ideal for those who prefer scheduled play, such as: Hosting a small group for social or competitive games. Practicing skills with 2-4 players. Enjoying dedicated court time with family or friends. Organizing recurring groups (e.g., Women’s Intermediate Group). Hosting small group social events (e.g., Court to Corks – Pickleball followed by drinks at Cimarron Patio). Guest Policy (Unchanged): Each resident may invite up to three guests daily, provided the resident is present. Residents must not share gate codes with guests. Please be mindful of fairness when bringing guests. Our goal is to create a fun and well-balanced pickleball experience for everyone. Thank you for your participation and support!
Please return the TVA-purchased paddles and balls back to their proper holders once you have finished playing. These balls and paddles are provided for TVA Sponsored Events and guests. We will not be buying replacement paddles and balls. Please purchase your own paddles and balls if you plan on playing routinely. All food and drinks must be kept off the courts. Picnic tables are provided for holding these items. COURT EDIQUETTE While we have many residents using and enjoying the facilities, we would very much appreciate it if members and their guests read the rules posted at the courts on the exterior wall by the keypad. Reminder: No golf shoes of ANY kind are permitted on the courts.

WEEKLY ROUND ROBINS . . .
Join us every Saturday from 10 AM to noon for our Weekly Round Robins, which will run through April 26, 2025! This hosted event is open to all residents and provides a fun yet competitive environment to meet new people and refine their skills. While past sessions have mainly attracted intermediate players, we also welcome beginners eager to improve. If that sounds like you, we’d love to have you on the courts! Details: Check-in: Arrive 15 minutes early for sign-in and warm-up. Capacity: Limited to the first 30 players who check-in. Please note: All courts are reserved for participants during Round Robin sessions. If you do not plan to attend the event, kindly choose another time to play. New Rebounder Board! Want to sharpen your dinks, volleys, and reaction time— but don’t always have a partner? Try the new Rebounder Board at the courts! Designed for solo practice, it features built-in wheels for easy portability, so you can roll it to any open court and train on your own. We look forward to seeing you on the courts!
COMMUNITY PARK ACCESS Maricopa County has issued us a Temporary Usage Permit, allowing residents to access the park solely via the Golf Cart Path from Desierto to Blue Sky Drive. With this temporary permit, it's crucial that we prevent parking or foot traffic from Forest Road, as failing to comply with these restrictions could jeopardize our permit. While using the cart path, please remember that golfers will be present near the green on Hole #2, so proceed with caution and follow the signs directing you toward Blue Sky Drive. To access the Pickleball Courts, enter your member number and the “#” key. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to enhance the park's amenities.
DOG PARK To keep the dog park clean for our beloved pets, please remember to pick up after your dog. Clean-up bags and disposal stations are available at the park for your convenience.
