Seed Confections: Innovation Kitchen by Peri Hayes Owner of Seed Confections, Gen Kroeker, is delighted to present their Innovation Kitchen: “This is a certified, commercial kitchen that is inspected by our local health unit.” This kitchen space entails a variety of equipment, including fridges, a stove, a hand washing station, mixers, pans, pots, smallwares and more. The front area is a flexible space that can be utilized for retail, leading classes, enjoying a dinner celebration and so forth. With multiple countertops, ovens and beyond, the Innovation Kitchen is a suitable venue for hosting birthday parties, exploring the art of cupcake decorating and other culinary activities. “This is designed for people who are new to business and are trying to get out of their house while following health regulations,” Gen encourages. This facility is available for a week-long rental, for a weekend pop-up shop, or for a single day. “We are creating a space that allows people to build their business the way that they want to.” This is a valuable opportunity for business owners to connect with customers, as well as bring their creative visions to life through having full access to this spacious section of the establishment. While some entrepreneurs benefit from renting for one or two days on a weekly basis, others opt to secure this rental once a month for the purpose of stocking their product. “We currently service about 12 businesses,” Gen enthuses. Those renting are empowered with their own front door, window and independent hours. Simultaneously, Gen is eager to promote these local businesses and also proposes
collaboration through coordinating their hours with Seed Confections as a means to broaden traffic. Voicing her excitement, Gen expresses, “Food-based businesses have been looking for something like this! I found there was a niche in the market that wasn’t filled, and this is going to help businesses in St. Thomas grow.” As Gen warmly concludes, “If you’ve ever thought about operating a business or trying your hand at a side job, something like this could be the opportunity. Hopefully, a space like this will show how viable it is, celebrating more in the city and continuing to grow our small business community.” The Innovation Kitchen is offered Monday through Sunday on a first-come, first-served basis. Visit the ‘Innovation Kitchen’ tab through the seedconfections.com/ website to review their online booking system, peruse their availability and learn further information about this welcoming rental space.
