Once we gather all that information, we can narrow everything down to a machine that’ll work well in your environment.” Beyond finding the right equipment, Forest City Business Equipment stands apart with its service programs. “Most companies bill customers in advance, usually quarterly, based on estimated use,” George says. “If you don’t hit that volume, you’re still billed, plus extra fees they don’t tell you about, like delivery charges for toner. We don’t do that. We bill in arrears based on actual usage. That way, customers aren’t overcharged.” This fair approach is rooted in George’s personal philosophy. “I like to spend my customers’ money the way I’d want to spend my own. George started Forest City Business Equipment in London

in 1981. “My first two customers were Labatt and 3M, which gave me a big boost. Since then, we’ve grown to over 6,500 customers, serving businesses from Windsor to Toronto and even into the United States.” One standout example of George’s customer-focused service involves a local St. Thomas business. “They had an issue with their copier from another company. The company couldn’t fix it and didn’t offer a loaner. I brought them a similar machine to use, only newer, and told them just to pay for the copies they ran. In the meantime, I discovered the problem was a missing surge protector and incorrectly wired components. Once we fixed it, they signed a service contract with us and have been happy customers ever since.” George’s emphasis on respect, fairness, and reliable service has built a solid reputation for Forest City Business Equipment. “Every time you send out a printed page, it represents your company.
