Mountain Shadows International Montessori School
WHAT IS THE CAMP’S MISSION AND PHILOSOPHY? Our mission is to draw on Montessori principles to cultivate growth, creativity, and independence in our campers through hands-on learning and joyful summer experiences. WHAT SAFETY MEASURES ARE IN PLACE? We prioritize safety with comprehensive emergency procedures, CPR/First Aid-certified staff, and strict adherence to rigorous safety protocols, ensuring a secure environment for all campers. WHAT IS THE CAMPER-TO- COUNSELOR RATIO? We maintain a 1:10 camper-to-counselor ratio, ensuring each child receives personalized attention and enjoys a safe and engaging camp experience. HOW ARE STAFF MEMBERS SCREENED AND TRAINED? We hire experienced educators who pass detailed background checks and participate in comprehensive training programs, ensuring top-tier child care and engaging learning experiences. IS THERE A DAILY SCHEDULE, AND CAN YOU PROVIDE AN EXAMPLE? Campers arrive and discuss their plans for the day at 8— maybe a trip or an exciting workshop! Lunch is around noon, typically followed by group activities until 3 PM.
ARE THERE OPPORTUNITIES FOR FREE PLAY OR DOWNTIME? Campers have dedicated time each day for outdoor free play or quieter activities, such as reading, drawing, or simply relaxing in our thoughtfully designed environments. HOW DOES THE CAMP HANDLE HEALTH ISSUES AND ALLERGIES? Our camp prioritizes accommodations for children with allergies or health issues. Please share specific needs during registration so we can ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for your child. ARE THERE OPPORTUNITIES FOR PARENTS TO VISIT OR PARTICIPATE IN CAMP ACTIVITIES? We warmly invite parents to participate as volunteers and always strive to foster community involvement while respecting children’s independence and supporting the development of confidence and autonomy in our campers.
