specifically mentions two California bills which were recently signed into law, SB (Senate Bill) 253 and SB 261. The first requires larger companies like Blue Diamond , even if privately owned, to publicly report data on greenhouse gas emissions across its manufacturing and supply chain. As a cooperative, this would include those emissions generated on farms owned by our members. The second, SB 261, requires companies to report risk of impacts to their business from climate change. The regulations implemented through these laws will make it in our best interest to demonstrate progress in adopting practices such as cover crops and Whole Orchard Recycling, which are believed to both lower greenhouse gas emissions and reduce climate change impacts from conditions like drought or flood. In short, our sustainability team is working to demonstrate to consumers, customers and regulators that Blue Diamond members, our processing facilities and our products are the best available in the global almond industry.
