The ZRUOGRIMXGJHPHQWDQGIHDURIIDLOLQJZHQWÀ\LQJRXWWKHZLQGRZ,Q WKLVZLVHSK\VLFDOSOD\,IHOWVDIHWRH[SUHVVP\ZKROHVHOIKRQHVWO\ verbally and non-verbally. Play gave me the emotional safety to be free from other people’s MXGJPHQWVDVZHOODVP\RZQ0RUHSDUWVRIPHFDPHRXWWRSOD\EH - FDXVH WKH\ GLGQ¶W IHHO MXGJHG , IRXQG SK\VLFDO H[SUHVVLRQ IRU HQWLUH states of being — the anxiety, the sadness side-by-side with my hopes DQG GHVLUHV 7KHVH SDUWV RI P\VHOI ¿QDOO\ KDG VRPH HTXDO WLPH DQG H[SUHVVLRQLQWKHRXWHUZRUOG1RWLFLQJWKHLUH[SUHVVLRQ,JRWWRKDYH PRUHRIP\KXPDQH[SHULHQFHZLWKRXWDQHJDWLYHVWRU\8OWLPDWHO\, learned these intense emotions simply had information to share with PH2QFH,PDGHQRQMXGJPHQWDOVSDFHWR³KHDU´WKHPWKH\GLVVLSDW - ed on their own. Recovering more pieces of me that could have joy meant learning to relate to myself and others with more lightness and compassion.
