Komoka:Kilworth:Delaware March 2025

Pet of the Month We all love our pets, big or small. Send in their photo to make them known to all. Include a brief description about your family pet to Tami@villagerpublications.com, and below are some handy tips from your local vet.

Meet Frankie… Frankie was a 16-year- old orange tabby who resided in Delaware until sadly he passed away in December 2024. He was the most affectionate, kind-hearted, loving cat you could ever wish for. He loved sleeping with his family, getting treats, being brushed, and helping with puzzles. What he really enjoyed though was snuggling with you at every opportunity he could find. Frankie would follow us around everywhere he could. Our home is not the same without him. Spaying and Neutering Your Pet by Sydney L., Veterinary Technician

There are many misconceptions regarding the topic of spaying and neutering. With there being so much misleading information on the internet and social media, our team at Komoka Kilworth Animal Clinic would be happy to assist you with any questions you may have. Let’s talk about some common misconceptions or myths. “There are no health benefits to spaying or neutering my pet.” Having your dog or cat spayed or neutered can actually help increase their chances of living a longer, healthier life. Your pet could have an increased life expectancy by several years, meaning that they get to spend even more time with you! “My pet’s personality will change after they are spayed or neutered.” Altering your pet will not impact their ‘personality’, though many unwanted behaviors may decrease such as spraying urine in male cats, and territory marking or mounting in male dogs. Neutering your male dog may also help to lower aggressive behavior. “The spay/neuter procedure is expensive and painful.” The surgical procedure is done at your veterinary clinic under London Animal Care Centre – Licensing, Bylaw Enforcement, Adoption and Lost/Found Services: 121 Pine Valley Blvd., (519) 685-1330 The Catty Shack: 756 Windermere Rd., (519) 432-4572 Your Perfect Match awaits you at The London Animal Care Centre and The Catty Shack!
