Ferguson Box Invests In Amtech Software’s EnCore System Fort Washington, Pennsylvania based Amtech Software announced that Charlotte, North Carolina based Ferguson Supply & Box Manufacturing Company, a prominent figure in the Southeast’s corrugated packaging industry since its inception in 1959, has signed an agreement to upgrade their Imaginera system to Amtech Software’s web-based EnCore system. EnCore is browser based so users can leverage PCs, Macs, and tablets to access the software. Ferguson is look- ing forward to providing their users with the ability to tailor the user interface for optimal efficiency. This includes a custom home screen with quick links to often used screen in the application, personalized column visibility/width/po- sition, and the ability to export search results to Excel. Printed Specialties Boosts Capacity With Koenig & Bauer Press Carrollton, Georgia based Printed Specialties increased folding carton capabity after only a couple of months of operating a Koenig & Bauer Rapida 106 six-color plus coat- er in its pressroom.
The new Rapida 106 replaced two presses at the firm. “The new Koenig & Bauer Rapida 106 press is outper- forming our older presses by leaps and bounds,” says Greg Smith, owner of Printed Specialties. “Our printing capacity has definitely grown by more than 50 percent. With the
performance gains we’re seeing, I think the time to reach our initial ROI could be cut in half. The gains in quality of our printed sheets alone have increased our confidence where we can surge throughput through the entire plant. We’re seeing new run speeds close to double what we got from our older presses.
