Maser has been a hand surgeon for 30 years, and his commitment to creating lasting relationships with his patients never sways. “I enjoy talking to patients, learning where they’re from, where they live, and what they do for work and for fun,” shared Maser. “It helps me understand them as a person so that I can better care for them.” Learn more about Maser’s career, his immense love for hiking, and where his favorite spots are throughout the city. Medical Expert I’ve been involved in Medical Leadership for most of my career. In my current role, I work with all services and specialties in the hospital. While my primary responsibility is Rapid City Hospital, I also interact with the other four Monument Health hospitals. Serene Sites I love to hike and get outside. I’ve section-hiked the entire Centennial Trail and enjoyed many other trails throughout the Hills. My journey to different trails also takes me along roads and past scenery that I wouldn't have seen otherwise. Our hills are very accessible, beautiful, and unique from the first steps you take.
