Sex and Salvation The Ethics of Sexuality and Desire in Scripture Erin Dufault-Hunter How should Christians act when it comes to sex and sexuality? Some embrace rigid rules but then experience shame in regard to their desires. Others chase authenticity and abandon discipline entirely. And both approaches often end up mirroring our society’s sexual anxiety rather than offering an alternative to it. Christian ethicist Erin Dufault-Hunter injects an orthodox voice into this fraught conversation. In Sex and Salvation , she turns to Scrip- ture to tell the story of human sexuality as a journey to intimacy with God and others and as an invitation into wholeness. Covering a range of ethical questions, Dufault-Hunter offers biblical guidance to everyday Christians, whatever their marital status or however our culture might categorize their sexuality. Ultimately, she argues that our deepest desires have the power to form us— either in the image of our consumeristic society or in the image of Christ. Sex and Salvation i s ideal for classroom use, and each chapter includes discussion questions. CONTENTS Prelude: A Confession for Jesus Followers in Late Modernity 1.
