Each year, the acquisition community nominates outstand- ing individuals and teams for recognition through the De- fense Acquisition Awards program. Nominations are ac- cepted in five award categories: David Packard Excellence in Acquisition Teams, Individual Achievement Awards, Workforce Development Innovation Teams, Flexibility in Acquisition Teams, and Software Innovation Team Achieve- ment. Nominations must be submitted to the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustain- ment, Human Capital Initiatives, no later than Aug. 27, 2025. Sharing the Burden: Using the Regional Sustainment Framework DAU Communications
After the Cold War, America benefited from what has come to be known as the peace dividend. “We did not have an adversary at that time that could test our logistics,” said Joseph Brooks, executive director for Regional Sustainment within the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Sustainment. This led to what he described as DoD shifting to a “just-in-time logistics approach.” America must col- laborate with allies on co-sustainment and burden sharing to improve readiness. The Regional Sustainment Framework (RSF) is one key weapon in DoD’s arsenal to achieve those goals. (Read more)
