The Recycling Partnership Go Electric in Brighton
Local Commercial Services Operator Invests in First Fully Electric Re Purposed Refuse Collection Vehicle For Commercial Use in Brighton & Hove
Brighton based waste services business The Recycling Partnership have taken delivery of their first fully electric refuse collection vehicle. This is the first fully electric conversion to be operated commercially in the UK. The vehicle has been converted to Electric to help steer the industry down a reduce, reuse and recycle route proving that this option provides a service delivery as good as a brand new diesel vehicle. As the volume of diesel fuelled vehicles continue to increase on our roads, businesses need to consider alternatives that protect our environment. By investing in the latest and cleanest technology available this local contractor is aiming to improve vehicle efficiency and air quality in our region. The e-One has a 200kwh battery pack and boasts a range of up to 200kms per full charge, which enables us to operate our normal daily collection round using only electric thus reducing our carbon footprint to Zero emissions and saving on operating costs. As the business grows we have the option to increase the battery capacity on other vehicles to 280kwh to accommodate larger rounds operating in a larger radius. Our drivers and workshop have undergone extensive training on both operational and mechanical aspects of the vehicle bringing new skills on electric vehicles to the region. With the order book for e-One filling fast The Recycling Partnership wanted to show their ongoing commitment to reducing their carbon footprint by securing the very first available unit helping their local environment with both emission and noise pollution reduction and encourage the industry to follow suit.
