Energy efficient rooftop air-conditioning systems with variable-speed-compressor technology The Cool Top Trail 28VN and 36VN are the latest innovation in rooftop air-conditioning for RVs and Caravans. Their inverter compressor technology allows the units to modulate the cooling or heating output by adapting the compressor speed. This ensures that full performance is provided after start-up to quickly cool down or heat up the vehicle. Once desired set temperature is reached, the units will automatically adapt the compressor speed to precisely maintain the desired comfort temperature. Reducing the compressor speed also reduces the electrical power consumption and the noise level while increasing the energy efficiency. The smooth compressor start also eliminates any starting peak. In addition, the ECO1 and ECO 2 functions can be used to limit the amperage draw during operation which is a great feature to prevent tripping of circuit breakers on campgrounds with low amperage levels. This amperage limitation function is also very useful when using batteries and 230 V inverters as a power supply. A huge benefit for users who still want to have air-conditioning when no 230 V mains is available.
