Area board meetings Both the Southern Counties and South West area boards will meet during the next couple of months. Agenda items include key issues affecting members and the industry in the region, updates from the FMB National Board, and attendees will hear from speakers including industry stakeholders and other experts.

A successful golf day In early September, the South West Area Board held its charity golf day at Thornbury Golf Club in aid of the FMB’s national charity partner, The Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity. Supported by headline sponsor, Next Tech, players from across the region enjoyed a day of golf, networked with fellow members and others from the industry, and helped to raise

SOUTH Skills and training discussions

Members supporting regional events On 16-17 November, the South West Homebuilding & Renovating Show will take place at the Bath and West Showground in Somerset. The FMB will be there to engage delegates, and members will be available at the advice centre to answer homeowners’ questions about their planned projects. Participating in the show is a great way to promote the fantastic work of Master Builders and the FMB. If you’re in the area, come along to visit the FMB stand or get in touch if you’d like to support future regional events.

Members in the South frequently speak to Director Iain Kirtley about skills and labour challenges. To that end, FMB South is engaging colleges, training groups and training providers across the region to find new opportunities for FMB members. So far, Iain has met with: ● Cornwall Construction Training Group ● Oxfordshire Construction Training Group ● Net Zero Skills Hub at Abingdon and Witney College ● Local skills improvement partnerships across the region Keep an eye out for opportunities posted on the FMB’s website and via the FMB member app.
