Alpha Phis Hit the Pickleball Courts in Dallas Earlier this spring, the Dallas and Suburban Alumnae Community of Alpha Phi took its annual fundraiser to the pickleball courts with its Annual Philanthropy Fundraiser – a pickleball “tournament” in Plano, Texas. Alpha Phi friends and family (high school age and older) were invited to participate regardless of their skill level or familiarity with the sport. Participants were divided into two groups – those who have never played or would be considered early beginners and those who were more familiar with pickleball and would be considered advanced beginners or intermediate advanced. Coaches were on-site to offer instruction to the groups, and pickleball equipment was provided. This philanthropy event also included a “wine pull” and a “gift card pull.” Wine pulls were $25 each to enter, and the value of each bottle of wine was at least $25. There was a “golden” bottle valued at over $200. Likewise, the gift card pulls cost $25 each to enter, and the value of each gift card was at least $25 with a “golden” gift card worth over $200. This tournament was a success with participants raising over $2,000 for the Alpha Phi Foundation, local Alpha Phi collegiate chapters and the alumnae group’s yearly community programs. Congratulations to the Dallas and Suburban Alumnae Community, and thanks to everyone who participated in this pickleball philanthropy event!
