ONE ARRESTED AFTER POLICE RESPOND TO FIREARMS CALL IN CLARENCE CREEK

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested one person after officers res- ponded to a firearms call on Brazeau Street in Clarence Creek in the morning hours of Monday, Sept. 9 Ontario Provincial Police vehicles flooded the area, blocking access to the rural resi- dential Brazeau Road as police responded to a house some 650 metres south of Base- line Road. Just an hour or so later, several police cars remained on site with police seen coming in and out of the house and attached garage. Two paramedic vehicles were positioned about one kilometre away throughout the operation. In a release, OPP said it received a call just after 7 a.m. involving a firearm. Upon arrival, provincial police officers made contact with the person of interest and an arrest was made without further incident. Due to the nature of the investigation, emergency crews remained at the scene. The OPP Russell County Crime Unit is assisting with the investigation, and said there is no threat to public safety. The individual was held until they faced a judge at the L’Orignal court Tuesday morning, Sept. 10. Plusieurs véhicules de police se sont rendus dans une résidence de Brazeau Road à Clarence Creek lundi matin 9 septembre. Une douzaine de voitures de police ont bloqué l’accès à la route résidentielle rurale avant 8 heures. Une heure plus tard, quatre ou cinq voitures restaient sur place alors que la police semblait fouiller la maison et le garage attenant. La police n’a pas encore communiqué d’autres informations.
