Sonoco has announced the start of Robert Tiede’s tenure as the new President and CEO of Sonoco.
Tiede replaces the retir ing Jack Sanders, who served as president and CEO since 2013. Tiede will be the ninth CEO of the 119-year-old company.
Prior to being named CEO, Tiede served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Sono- co, with global leadership, sales and operating responsibility for all of the company’s diversified consumer, in- dustrial and protective packaging businesses. Since joining Sonoco in 2004, Tiede has led all of Sonoco’s global consumer-related businesses, includ- ing Rigid Paper Containers, Flexible Packaging, Plas- tics and Display and Packaging. UPM Raflatac Diddier Solano has been appointed as area sales di- rector for Mexico and Central America for UPM Raflatac. Solano will be based at the company’s sales office at its slitting and distribution terminal in Mexico City, Mexico. UPM Raflatac also operates a terminal in Guadalajara, Mexico. MPS MPS has made three key appointments to its global sales team. Joining MPS in the role of Area Sales Man- ager are Niels van Groenendaal, Suwannee Tantisrisuk and Sebastiaan Rakhorst. Niels van Groenendaal has been named Area Sales Manager for Spain and Latin America. Suwannee Tantisrisuk has been appointed Area Sales Manager. Suwannee is based in Bangkok, Thai- land and is responsible for South-East Asia with a focus on Thailand and surrounding countries. Sebastiaan Rakhorst has been appointed as Junior Area Sales Manager. AWT Labels & Packaging Tom Nelson has been named Executive Vice Presi- dent - Flexible Packaging for AWT Labels & Packaging focusing on its flexible packaging facility based in South Elgin, Illinois. Nelson previously served as General Manager of Amcor’s Mundelein, Illinois, and Madison,Wisconsin, facilities. Robert Tiede
