cultivator wheel and prayed to God that He would make it possible for me to go to the Boy Scout camp that year. In the 30 years since then I have never forgotten the experience. On the Saturday before the Mon day when the camp was to start, the scoutmaster suddenly drove into our yard. I was in the barn at the time and my brother came rushing out to say, “ Go up to the house. Father wants to see you.” All I could think of was that I was going to get scolded for something I had done wrong. I went up to the house with a certain amount of fear fulness. I hadn’t seen the Scoutmas ter drive into the yard. My father was smiling when I came in and said that the Scout troop had a special fund and that it was going to use the money to send two

At the camp during the next week, in the midst of the fun and excite ment of camp life, I remembered my experience in the cornfield. I was outside the camp on a hike at the time, walking through tall grass that reminded me of the rows of com between which I had prayed a few weeks before. I dropped to my knees and thanked God for making it pos sible for me to do what seemed im possible. In the 30 years since then, I have frequently been in most difficult cir cumstances.
