solvent, they produce a purple indeli ble ink. Sailors discovered this long ago. A recent experiment uses sand dollar eggs in testing anticancer drugs. Belying their name, sand dol lars provide this valuable service free! There is an old legend that says that the sand dollar tells the story of the life of Jesus in the delicate trac eries of the “ shell.” Look at one without spines and see how many things in the story you can see. On the upper side there is etched the pattern of a Christmas poinsettia. In its center is the Christmas star which the wise men saw when thtey came to worship the Baby Jesus. On the other side is traced the Easter lily. Through the “ shell” is a hole which some say may tell of thé Roman spear which was thrust into the side of Jesus on the Cross. When the shell is broken, five little white doves, symbols of the Holy Spirit, are releâsed. As we have considered the story of one of God’s smallest creatures, so wonderfully made, I am sure you want to bow your heads and hearts in worship and adoration of our great God and Saviour, Jesus Christ, by whom all things were made (John 1:3) and declare in the words of the Psalmist, “ Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised” (Psa. 48:1). M A T CH IN G FOR JANUARY January, the first month in the new year, is the time to think of new things. There are many new things mentioned in the Word of God. By filling in the blanks in the first column with words in the second column, you will learn what some of these new things are and by matching them with the references mentioned in the third column you will learn where they can be located in the Bible. 1. Teenager,

Where Are You Going?

life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on Him.” Who is this that brings everlast ing life to the person who believes? The Lord Jesus Christ is this One upon whom we are to believe: “ Be lieve on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.” Who is He? He is the way, the truth, and the life, the eternal God, the Saviour from sin. But what does it mean to believe? The Bible says that “ as many as re ceived him [Jesus Christ], to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.” Therefore, to believe in Him is to personally receive Jesus Christ as Saviour. Will you do this today? Now? Right where you are? One more word: Sin is disobeying God. We’ve all done this. That’s why we are all condemned. Consequently, you are ready to re ceive Jesus only when you are pre pared to admit and forsake your sin. “ If we confess our sins, He .is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all un righteousness.” If, realizing your need of Christ as your Saviour and desiring the happiness of walking with the loving eternal God, you are ready now to turn to Him, then just pray simply: “ Turning from my sin I take You as my Saviour and Lord. I believe that You save me now. Thank You. Amen.” If you have done this sincerely, you can be sure that you are for given, that Christ does live now in you, and that 100 or 1,000,000 years from now you will be with Him forever. I know where I am going. Do you ? “ These are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.” Available in printed forrh from American Tract Society, Oradetl, New Jersey.

T eenager , where are you going? Maybe you say: “ I’m going home.” But where are you going in life? Perhaps you answer: “ I’m not sure. I hope I'll have a good job, a home, and a happy family. But I'm not sure of the details. Only time will answer that one.” Do you know that you can be sure of the future right now? To this you’ll probably ask, dis- believingly: “ I can?” Yes, you can! Oh, I wouldn’t try to kid you. You know and I know that only God knows where you’ll be ten years from today or what you’ll be doing. But you can know where you will be 100 years from now — and I don’t mean in the grave either! For, you see, you won’t be there at all. Oh, yes, presumably your body will be, but the real “ you” will either be with God in Heaven or separated forever from Him in a place too terrible for adequate description. Now you’re probably asking two questions: First — “ How can you be so sure of all this?” I can’t be sure of this — or of anything else about God or eternity — until I ac cept the Bible as God’s true revela tion of Himself. But I do accept it as just that because to do anything else demands more credulity than I can muster. Can you imagine a library of 66 books written over a period of more than 1500 years by more than 40 different authors, containing a great many fulfilled prophecies and the highest moral concepts imaginable, at the same time without contradic tion in all its teachings, — can you imagine such a book to be of purely human origin? This is the Bible! And this is what it teaches. The second question you ask is probably this: “ How can I know for sure where I’ll be a hundred years from now?” Again the Bible holds the answer when it says, “ He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting
