TOOL #3: THE SEVEN PROMISES AND PROPHECIES OF GOD’S PLAN, AND THE 12 TIME PERIODS OF GOD’S STORY

The entire Bible, from Genesis 12:1 through the four Gospel accounts of

Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, is a story of God foretelling what He would

cause or permit to happen, and how that most of it has already happened. The

Bible is His accurate historical record of the fulfillment of all 7 of the Promises

and Prophecies that He made to Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Moses. And there

are 12 distinct time periods related to these 7 promises and prophecies.

There are three important truths about prophecy stated in Isaiah 46:10-11,

Isaiah 41:21-23 and Isaiah 44:25-26.

1. God told Isaiah that He would reveal all His plan from beginning to

end that He would bring it all to pass (Isaiah 46:10-11)

2. Only God can foretell the future (Isaiah 41:21-23)

3. God will make certain that the predictions of His prophets will be

fulfilled (Isaiah 44:25-26). Also, God says in this passage that He will

make certain that prophecies which people make from within their

own minds will not come to pass.

The 7 Promises and Prophecies that God made to Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and

Moses are:

1. Many Descendants – God gave this promise to Abraham in Genesis

13:16 and 15:5 and the promise was fulfilled by Exodus 1:7.

2. Slavery & Deliverance – God gave this prophecy to Abraham in

Genesis 15:13-16. God began fulfilling this prophecy at Exodus 1:8

and the prophecy was fulfilled by Joshua 5:12.
