The 10 Old Testament time periods are:
1. Origins Period – Genesis 1:1 through 11:32, especially chapter 3, the Fall
of Man, and 3:15 the first promise of Messiah.
2. Patriarchal Period – Genesis 12:1 through Exodus 1:7 fulfills the first
promise and prophecy of many descendants.
3. Enslaved and Freed, Exodus Period – Exodus 1:8 through Joshua 5:12
fulfills the second prophecy to Abraham found in Genesis 15:12-16.
4. Conquest or Victory Period – Joshua 5:13 through Judges 2:9 fulfills the
third prophecy of their coming into and taking possession of their
Promised Land.
5. Judges Period – Judges 2:10 through Samuel’s life, until Saul is
confirmed as king in I Samuel 11. This begins the fulfillment of the
fourth prophecy of Israel’s unfaithfulness.
6. United Kingdom Period – I Samuel 10 through I Kings 12:15 and II
Chronicles 10:15. This is of Kings Saul, David and Solomon and furthers
the fulfillment of the prophecy of Israel’s unfaithfulness.
7. Divided Kingdom Period – I Kings 12:16 through II Kings 24:20, and II
Chronicles 10:16 through 36:20. This is the final fulfilling of the
prophecy concerning Israel’s unfaithfulness, and also contains the
prophecies of Obadiah, Joel, Jonah, Amos, Hosea, Isaiah, Micah,
Nahum, Zephaniah, Jeremiah, and Habakkuk.
8. Exile Period – Beginning with II Kings 25:1-30 and II Chronicles 36:21,
this period also includes the prophecies of Daniel and Ezekiel, fulfilling
the fifth prophecy of Israel’s expulsion from out of their land.
9. Restoration Period – Beginning with II Chronicles 36:22 and Ezra 1:1,
this period also includes Esther, Ezra and Nehemiah, and the prophecies
of Haggai, Zechariah, and Malachi, fulfilling the sixth prophecy of Israel’s
return and restoration back into their Promised Land.
10. The Period of Silence from Heaven – Amos 8:11+12.
