God the Holy Spirit
As God, the Holy Spirit exists simultaneously everywhere. It is God the Holy
Spirit who convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgement. It is
through the work of the Holy Spirit that believers are ‘born again’, and through
the baptism that the Holy Spirit provides that we are placed into Jesus’ body,
the Church.
Upon salvation, the Holy Spirit dwells within every believer. It is the Holy Spirit
who seals our salvation, guaranteeing our eternal inheritance. As believers
yield to the Holy Spirit, He fills each believer. He also distributes spiritual gifts
to each believer, based upon His will.
It is through the Holy Spirit that we are aware of the things that have been
freely given to us by God.
God the Holy Spirit:
… has Intellect (1 Cor. 2:11-12), Emotions (Eph.4:30, Gal.5:22, Acts 5:3-4) and
a Will (Acts 16:6-8)
… has come to be with us (Jn.14:15-18), to teach us (15:26) all about Jesus
(16:7-8, 13-14)
… u niquely came at Pentecost to begin Christ’s Church on earth (Acts 2)
… is active in our New Birth, Regeneration Jn.3:1-5, I Pet.1:3+23, Jas.1:18
… is our ea rnest payment, our guarantee 2 Cor.1:21+22, 5:5; Eph.1:13-14,
4:30
… is the means of living out our New Life in Christ in holiness Eph.5:18,
