A LETTER FROM LISA
Dear Kate’s Club Community,
The year 2023 proved to be one of our most exciting as Kate’s Club celebrated its 20th anniversary, experienced incredible growth, and laid the foundation for the next 20 years. We are grateful for the unwavering support of our community and the relentless dedication of our team as we continue to build a world in which it’s okay to grieve. During our 20th year, Kate’s Club was recognized nationally for our work with grieving children, families and young adults and received the U.S. Surgeon General’s medallion, his highest civilian award. This elevated grief support to a larger, nationwide audience, and introduced many to the Kate’s Club way. Our Kate’s Club team managed unprecedented growth in Kate’s Club programming and impact; we: Served children, families, young adults and professionals in 50 counties throughout Georgia, nearly doubling our geographic reach Saw a 35% increase in the number of grieving children participating in our Clubhouse and KC Connects programs
Experienced a 20% increase in parent and caregiver engagement Completed pilot phases of our LoKate young adult program and Kate’s Hub online platform, with more than 400 members across both programs And held our first grief support groups in juvenile courts, reaching bereaved teens who are often under-resourced and overlooked We worked to build for our future too. Wrapping up the $2.8 million It’s Okay to Grieve campaign, we invested in our team’s capacity and capabilities, and expanded our community partnerships both in metro Atlanta and throughout Georgia. We are proud of all that we accomplished and recognize - and celebrate - the community support that helped us achieve these milestones. Without volunteers, donors, partners, and our community at large, Kate’s Club could not be the organization we are today. Thank you to everyone who has attended an event, participated in a program, donated to our mission, or told a friend about the work we do. Every Kate’s Club supporter plays a vital role in our story and the advancement of our vision: a world in which it’s okay to grieve.

STATEWIDE EXPANSION We’ve gone statewide! The bereavement support we’ve provided in Atlanta since 2003 is now a growing movement to work with children and teens, their families, and young adults all throughout Georgia. For years, we have provided trainings, education and resources throughout the state, and we now have team members on the ground in Albany , Athens , Brunswick , Cobb County and Newnan to strengthen our support in those regions.

Buddy Volunteers
are individual volunteers who work directly with kids and teens at
Clubhouse programs. They go through training and spend thousands of hours each

THE 20TH ANNIVERSARY MOURNING GLORY GALA Each year, the Mourning Glory Gala gives our community a chance to gather, uplifting our mission and members. During our 20th Anniversary Mourning Glory Gala, we also had the opportunity to celebrate our rich, 20-year history and prepare our organization for the future. More than 450 guests from all over Georgia came together to celebrate our accomplishments, the people who make this community what it is, and to strengthen our foundation for the next 20 years of service. RECEIVING THE U.S. SURGEON GENERAL’S MEDALLION On September 18, 2023 , Kate’s Club humbly accepted the U.S. Surgeon General’s medallion at the Songs for Hope event at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. The medallion is the highest honor the U.S. Surgeon General can bestow upon a civilian or organization for public health excellence. Kate’s Club was recognized alongside five other organizations and individuals for providing community and mental health support in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. “Kate’s Club is humbled to be part of this prestigious group of individuals and organizations, all working to alleviate the isolation and loneliness so many face today. Thank you, Dr. Murthy, for recognizing the importance of creating a sense of belonging for grieving children, families, and young adults. Grief is both unique and universal, and every day we see families gain strength and hope by being part of our Kate’s Club community.” -Lisa Aman, Executive Director Thank you so much to RBC Wealth Management and RBC Capital Markets for fundraising for Kate's Club at their 11th Annual Buy-side Bowling Benefit! The event raised $53,573 for Kate’s Club, a 33% year over year increase from $40,190 in 2022. We are lucky to have a partnership with RBC Wealth Management, RBC Capital Markets, and the teams from Cornerstone Investment Partners, Silvant Capital, Capital Investment Advisors and Crawford Investment. SPIN FOR KIDS Every year, we partner with Camp Twin Lakes , where we host our weekend Camp Good Mourning sessions twice a year. Then, in the fall, we ride in the Spin for Kids fundraiser, with 80% of the Team Kate’s Club proceeds benefiting Camp Good Mourning. With the support of our 12 riders in 2023, we raised $7,811 through just one event, which gives 15 campers a weekend of outdoor adventures and grief support at Camp Good Mourning.
