COMMUNITY SUPPORT RBC BOWLING TOURNAMENT
RECEIVING THE U.S. SURGEON GENERAL’S MEDALLION On September 18, 2023 , Kate’s Club humbly accepted the U.S. Surgeon General’s medallion at the Songs for Hope event at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. The medallion is the highest honor the U.S. Surgeon General can bestow upon a civilian or organization for public health excellence. Kate’s Club was recognized alongside five other organizations and individuals for providing community and mental health support in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. “Kate’s Club is humbled to be part of this prestigious group of individuals and organizations, all working to alleviate the isolation and loneliness so many face today. Thank you, Dr. Murthy, for recognizing the importance of creating a sense of belonging for grieving children, families, and young adults. Grief is both unique and universal, and every day we see families gain strength and hope by being part of our Kate’s Club community.” -Lisa Aman, Executive Director Thank you so much to RBC Wealth Management and RBC Capital Markets for fundraising for Kate's Club at their 11th Annual Buy-side Bowling Benefit! The event raised $53,573 for Kate’s Club, a 33% year over year increase from $40,190 in 2022. We are lucky to have a partnership with RBC Wealth Management, RBC Capital Markets, and the teams from Cornerstone Investment Partners, Silvant Capital, Capital Investment Advisors and Crawford Investment. SPIN FOR KIDS Every year, we partner with Camp Twin Lakes , where we host our weekend Camp Good Mourning sessions twice a year. Then, in the fall, we ride in the Spin for Kids fundraiser, with 80% of the Team Kate’s Club proceeds benefiting Camp Good Mourning. With the support of our 12 riders in 2023, we raised $7,811 through just one event, which gives 15 campers a weekend of outdoor adventures and grief support at Camp Good Mourning.
