therapeutic needs. These patients do not leave these rooms for 5-6 weeks. For that reason alone, it was incredibly stressful, but eventually heart-warming, to work with the curators and hospital staff in creating artwork that these dear souls would - by necessity - have to live with for nearly two months straight. It is my hope that my colour choices, and the rudimentary and complex geometry that I employed, will give them visual relief and joy.

I do. I’ve been several times to the hospital, to review the installation and to hand-sign every single one of the 89 artworks! Each time fell during Covid-19 lockdowns, which required me to wear full hazmat gear and to abide by stringent safety precautions, but it was more than worth it. I am extremely pleased with the installation, overall effect and therapeutic value of the artwork. It has received overwhelming praise from curators and staff. I could not be happier.

So what’s next?

This project gave rise to me working via a digital platform to create large scale works of commissioned and institutional art. Thanks to the work I’ve done, there are plans to work with both Apple and Google in the not too distant future. Projects and commissions are currently being discussed with both. The sky’s the limit!
