NACAC FORMS CHARACTER FOCUS INITIATIVE ADVISORY COUNCIL
Thirteen members have been selected to serve one-year terms on a Character Focus Initiative Advisory Council, which will support the over- all direction of the Character Focus Initiative at NACAC. These members will advocate for character in admis- sion through training and research, provide guidance on programming and content related to the Character Focus Initiative, assist in identifying new trends related to character in college admission, and more. Engage, NACAC’s dynamic mem- bership engagement platform, is celebrating its one-year anniversary. More than 5,000 NACAC members are using the platform to network with colleagues, gain valuable insights on what’s happening in the profession, and access job postings before anyone else. NEW ATTENDEE APP COMING TO FALL COLLEGE FAIRS
A slate of candidates is running for positions on the NACAC Board of Directors. The chair-elect and two board directors will be elected by all eligible NACAC voting members in the annual member vote later this year. Those running include Derek DuBose for chair-elect, and Johnnie Johnson, Jennifer Lee, Justin Mohney, and Sean Ohira for board directors. Learn more about the candidates.

Fairs are happening September through November across the country. New this
NACAC HOLDING INAUGURAL HBCU ADVANCE
fall season is an attendee app that will help students find and connect with on-site institutions. Additionally, four fairs — happening in Denver, Chicago, Seattle, and Philadelphia — will include designated exhibit space for STEM and performing and visual arts programs. STEM College and Career Fairs also will be held in Detroit and Boston. Three virtual fairs, which will have an international reach, will be held for students and exhibitors unable to attend in person. See the schedule.
HBCU Advance on June 10 will be a forum for college admission coun- seling professionals to explore the unique advantages and challenges specific to historically Black colleges and universities. This event is open to all college admission counseling professionals who work at HBCUs or who are interested in learning more about these institutions and their successful practices to help scale equity goals. The in-person event will be held at Coppin State University in Baltimore, Maryland. Learn more.
