Our Story Lafferty’s Home Center is an award-winning appliance, furniture, and mattress retailer dedicated to bringing the latest industry innovations to the four-states area. In 1971, Gilbert Lafferty worked in Louisiana’s oil fields while offering appliance repair as a side job. His wife, Linda, managed the finances and their four children, Cathy, Deanna, Donna, and Mark. Seeking a full-time career in appliance repair, they returned to Texarkana, Texas. By 1977, Lafferty’s expanded from repairs into retail sales, with Mark leading sales and Donna managing offices until her 2018 retirement. In 1986, Lafferty’s opened a 5,000-square-foot showroom on Summerhill Road, featuring an in-house repair shop and warehouse. Throughout the 1990s, the company modernized with computer-based systems and joined the AVB-BrandSource buying group, enhancing market competitiveness. In 2008, they unveiled a 47,000-square-foot home center, expanding into home furnishings. Today, Lafferty’s offers over 15 appliance brands, six major furniture lines, and three mattress brands.

What We Offer Lafferty’s embraces digital advancements. In 2020, we introduced digital pricing tags, automatically updating to match competitors’ prices. Our website chat and text features offer seamless communication. Additionally, our A.I. logistics system keeps clients informed about deliveries and service appointments. On the furniture side, we offer high-quality brands, including La-Z-Boy, Mayo, and Mavin. Mavin’s customizable hardwood furniture allows customers to design unique dining and bedroom pieces. Our Future Lafferty’s future includes new partnerships, expanded product lines, and continuous innovation. We are committed to bringing fresh designs and trends, ensuring every shopping experience is exceptional!
Mark’s children also joined the business. Melyssa Lloyd leads the Service and Parts Department, Mason Lafferty oversees Sales, Delivery, Installation, and Marketing, while Miles Lafferty contributed to Technology Adaptation and Business Development before founding Lafferty Roofing and Construction.
