W hat was once a dated 1989 home in a quiet Pleasant Grove neighborhood has been completely reimagined into a stylish, modern retreat. When Amanda and Jason Horton first purchased the property as an investment, they saw potential beneath its traditional layout and aging finishes. But after an unexpected offer on their former home, they embraced the challenge of transforming this space into their own. This home is another stunning transformation by local self-taught designer Amanda Horton of Driftwood Property Group, who is currently renovating her 18th home. With Amanda at the helm of design and a little construction consulting (and moral support) from Lynlee Harvey of Lynlee Builds, the renovation turned the house into a functional, stylish retreat while preserving its original character. The project maintained the home’s exterior charm while enhancing

the interior’s functionality with a more open, accessible layout and the modern convenience of updated appliances and mechanical systems. From thoughtfully selected hues to elegant quartz surfaces, every detail reflects Amanda’s knack for blending modern updates with meaningful design. The couple’s favorite treasures fill the home with a personal touch.
FAVORITE PIECE “Almost everything we own has a story or memory behind it that makes it special, but my favorite piece may be the bust of my mom, Patsy, that my Dad sculpted when they were newlyweds in college. Years later, Mom accidentally knocked it over and broke off the nose. Although she never forgave herself for damaging it, I love the Patsy-created character of the piece and cherish the memories of her telling the story over the years.”
