What is your favorite Texarkana memory?
Spending time with my family. I am fortunate enough to have an extended family, which includes the Nichols family, the Moser family, and the Matteson family. They are all awesome, even though some of them are Aggies. Who is someone from Texarkana who impacted your life? My parents, Mary Ann, and Steve Oden, have by far had the largest impact on my life. They are tremendous examples of how to live your life for me and my two sisters. I am truly the luckiest person in the world to have Mary Ann and Steve Oden as parents. Another person who had a great impact on my life was Dr. Mitchell Young. Dr. Young had the courage to stand up for what he believed in. He was a wonderful family man, an incredible leader, and a true public servant. What would you change about Texarkana? I would consolidate Texas High, PG, and LE so we could win 6A State in everything. It would be fun to thump Austin Westlake. What do you love about Texarkana? The people. Texarkana has the greatest people in the world. What is your nickname for Texarkana? T-Town What do you miss about Texarkana? The small-town feel. No traffic. The ability
TXK ROOTS Steve Oden, Jr. Steve Oden, Jr. was born in Texarkana, Texas, in 1968 and graduated from Texas High School in 1987. A seasoned real estate developer, general contractor, investor, and land speculator, he is also a dedicated community leader. As a co-founder of OHT Partners, Oden has helped shape the company into a vertically integrated powerhouse in real estate development, construction, and investment management. OHT Partners specializes in developing and building multifamily communities across major Texas markets and is consistently ranked among the largest multifamily developers and general contractors in the United States. Oden earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from The University of Texas at Austin. He is a member of Tarrytown United Methodist Church and an avid outdoorsman who spends much of his time at his Cadena Ranch in South Texas. He resides in Austin with his wife, Abbe.
