HOW ARE YOU PASSING THE TIME? Mark Speight (Golf Maintenance): “I have been working as normal (as can be) but, during this time, my wife and kids have been at home. My wife decided we were going to become a bike riding family and proceeded to order beach cruisers, baby seats and a trailer which all needed to be

assembled (yes they have gears) by me. They were not all compatible with each other but, with some golf course ingenuity, I put them together. So now we ride bikes everyday that we can and even the kids are riding their own bikes.”

Chris Snegon (Golf Maintenance): “My wife and I have started 2 major renovations. One is our master bathroom, and the other is rebuilding our back deck. She is the charge nurse in the ICU at St. Mary’s so after a long week it’s been nice just to have a project to pick away at together.”


By Kasia Zieba (Banquets) What you need:

- 1 medium (deep dish) bowl - An electric mixer or stationary mixer - Blender Bottle or your favorite reusable water bottle - 2 tablespoons of your favorite instant coffee - 1 tablespoon of your favorite kind of sugar

(you can add up to 2tbls if you like) - 2 tablespoons of boiling hot water - ½ cup of ice - 1 ¼ cup of your favorite milk (whole, almond, coconut, soy, etc.) - ¼ cup of half and half *optional* - ¼ cup of your favorite coffee creamer (you can add more or less to your liking) - Whipped cream and cinnamon for garnish *optional* Directions: 1. In medium bowl add instant coffee, sugar, and hot water 2. Turn on electric mixer and begin mixing 3. Mix the coffee mixture until the color is a light brown color and whipped looking – the mixture will thicken and become almost like a cool-whip consistency 4. In your blender bottle or water bottle add ice, milk, half and half, and creamer base 5. With a spoon add your whipped coffee mixture *Note, you can enjoy it just like this if you’d prefer, but my favorite is making it frothed* 6. Put the top on the blender bottle and begin shaking it all up *Make it fun for yourself! I like to use this as a time to let out all my frustrations, it doubles as a mini workout and you go about your day feeling refreshed!* 7. Shake until you feel the mixture thicken a little – you will begin to not hear the ice rattle as much, that is how you know it is done! 8. Open your blender bottle and pour into a pint glass or your favorite cup 9. You can garnish with some whipped cream and things like: sprinkled cinnamon, mini chocolate chips, a little chocolate syrup or caramel, etc.

Cristi Paulett (Spa): “It was mid spring, and the covers had been taken off the pools to start preparing the summer opening. One morning, as I was walking past, I

saw two of our building maintenance guys at the dive well, nothing unusual. But as I looked harder, I noticed they were intent on getting a family of ducks out of the dive well. They had found a piece of wood to use as a plank and had it angled into the water to help the family of ducks get out of the pool. The building maintenance team was so gentle walking the edges of the pool in an attempt to encourage the Mamma

and baby ducklings towards an ordered and leisurely exit. It melts my heart because, in that moment, it was crystal clear that every family at CCV is important and they will be protected to the best of our staffs’ ability, because every family at CCV matters.”

Bahamas, Grand Cayman, Cozumel, Colorado (skiing), Florida, San Francisco, San Diego, and other awesome vacation spots. My favorite spot has to be my family vacation house on the Rappahannock River in White Stone, VA., Lancaster County. This is the view from our deck. The open water there is the mouth of the Rappahannock looking into the Chesapeake Bay. We've had this spot since I was 10 years old, and I never tire of it. If you ever hear me say, "We're heading to the River this weekend," this is what I mean!

Scott Lata (Ollie’s) : My favorite vacation destination was my recent trip to Bali. There’s so much to do and way too much to see. I was there for 10 days and still didn’t come close to seeing it all. The food is cheap and delicious, the

hospitality is wonderful. My favorite experience was The Monkey Forest in the middle Ubud city. They’re so curious and so

smart but be careful! They know what’s expensive and will steal from you. ALSO, if you decide to hike down Kelingking, don’t make the same mistake I did of wearing slides...wear shoes..the stairs aren’t your traditional set of stairs.”
